Recognising the potential of the unique fastening capabilities of the hundreds of microscopic “hooks” on the burr, George worked tirelessly to develop a process to translate this fastening to textiles and creating what we now call hook and loop tape. This invention has gone on to transform the world, one strip at a time, and continues to inspire us today.

Velcro® Brand products use a superior and finer nylon yarn than some inferior tapes that will open and close 10,000 times before losing any performance, a truly dependable closure system.
